The Story

Notocactus schlosseri (Schlossers cacti) a British grown cactus, named after the person who discovered it - Hugo Schlosser. Originally from rocky grasslands of Uruguay, it lives  at a high altitudes and  often experiences dry winters and rainy summers. It starts off globular but changes to an upright cylindrical cacti it can reach up to 20cm. An ever changing cacti, the central spines start orange and change to brown and the radial ones white to yellow as its ages, which is contrasted against its dark green of the stem. These help protect from strong sun and predators. This cacti produces yellow bell shaped flowers in the summer.

RATING- Easy

LOVES- Well draining, porous soil. Lots of bright light.

HATES- Water-logged soil.
