Cladonia rangiferina otherwise known as Silver reindeer moss or Caribou moss is actually not a moss at all but a cold hardy lichen that grows in alpine tundra. As the name suggests it is an important part of the caribou diet. It is a decorative lichen which has been dyed various shades of green. This moss makes a perfect addition to a closed terrarium or for decorative purposes on a closed terrarium.
